Michael is a builder, leader, coach, innovator, entrepreneur, pastor, teacher, consultant, father, husband and friend. Michael is a gifted story-teller who brings messages to life and makes them memorable through interesting narrative. Michael is the principle of IamSignificant.ca – an online resource inspiring and equipping people for greater success with Significance, and the internet home for his spiritual direction and coaching practice.
Michael holds a Masters Degree in Ministry from St. Stephen’s University and his thesis is entitled “Becoming Love: Avoiding Common Forms of Christian Insanity.” A pastor with 20 years of ministry experience Michael transitioned his ministry The Rock into a more responsive and community valuing model that encourages deeper relationships with Jesus, family and others through healthy faith in real life. His experience in social service ministry ranges from developing a drop-in centre for youth and adults, working with people with addictions, to outreach activities to the financially challenged, youth at risk and the over-churched (spiritually abused). Michael has extensive experience with small groups of Christians in simple forms of church. Michael possesses a real passion for providing spiritual direction in areas of healing and integration of healthy faith into real life.
A dynamic communicator, Michael has spoken at numerous churches and conferences in Canada and the United States. He is also a consultant, friend, coach and confident to a number of Business and Church / Ministry leaders. Mike has been a guest on Christian Television shows including “100 Huntley Street,” “On the Edge with Dale Lang,” “Insight” and “Lifeline.”
Michael’s entrepreneurial spirit was cultivated in agriculture commodity trading with 10 years marketing oil-seed byproducts throughout western North America for a food processing company. In addition, he also is the owner of a successful e-commerce Kite Company.
Mike is happily married to Andrea for twenty-three years and has three amazing sons (5, 15 and 18). He likes to spend time with his family and friends, enjoys 70’s Rock, barbeque, flying stunt kites, and fine coffee. He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Mosaic Network based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada licensed with Vineyard Churches Canada and is a member of Spiritual Directors International and follows the SDI Code of Ethics.
